Psalm 25 - Hope at Rock Bottom

Psalm 25

“My hope is in you all day long”

David is at rock bottom, with enemies v2, he has lost his way v 4, guilt v7, 11 and indeed his whole country is in trouble v22.

He knows the only one to trust and turn to is his Lord and God v1 and prays a heartfelt prayer “Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish”

He is relying on, and says out loud what he knows of God;

God is.....

truthful, loving, merciful, good and upright, faithful ,forgiving,

God is.....

the best guide, guard and teacher and the only one who can save v4

Why would we try anyone or anywhere else?

A prayer

Thank You Lord that You are my refuge and my strength in hard times and an ever present helper in times of trouble. Help me to cling to You and this truth from the Bible. I know that You are the only, all-powerful God and that there is nothing that is too difficult in my life for You to deal with. Give me I pray Your strength to face today’s hard and troubled times with the confidence of knowing that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Thank YOU that my strength comes from You and that Your grace is sufficient for all the tasks and duties that will cross my daily path – not only for today but for the rest of my journey through life.

Amen
